(Feel free to borrow, steal and use all the below.)
How was 2016 for you? Yeah, we know, lots of political turmoil, but really, how did you fair? Did the year exceed your expectations? Fall below? Did you crush it and are still flying high business-wise, customer-wise, company-wise and relationship-wise? Maybe somewhere in between?
At Kestum Bilt, we are life-long-learners and always look to up our game. We had a banner year and along the way we learned a few things. If any of them resonate with you, then please feel free to apply them to your life, business or situation. If not, no worries.
Of course, we could take this space and list out all the winning campaigns, content and creative, talk about the clients we helped or the exciting productions and documentary we shot, but that would be boring and narcissistic.*

So here are three take-aways from 2016:
1. Assign Meaning – Say what? So here’s the deal. It’s tough to be enthusiastic when you’re waking up at 4:00 AM for a 6:00 AM all-day shoot. But here’s our truth: we love what we do. Waking up at 2, 3, or 4 AM is something we GET to do, not something we have to do. We look at it this way, two people (or two separate companies) can be tasked with the exact project. One person looks at the project as a chore, a job or a paycheck. The other person or company looks at the project as an opportunity to help, serve, grow, expand, play. We believe that you can assign a meaning to anything in life. We are “meaning-making-machines”. The meaning we assign to our work lives under the context that “We look to add unmatched value and growth to our clients and ourselves every damn day.” Boom.
2. Connect with People – Again, obvious right? Sure. But not everyone or every company does it. So what does connecting with people look like for us? Simple. Whether you’re a potential client, colleague, customer, vendor or our favorite barista in Ybor City – we know that every precious one of you is important. The world has gone from six degrees of separation to 1.5 degrees of separation. Life (and business) is an enrollment game. At any given moment we are connecting and enrolling people into our dream. So get out there and start connecting with people and watch your dream manifest. You can start by connecting with us here.
3. Expect Magic in Every Encounter – You probably didn’t see this one coming. That’s okay, it’s something we noticed over and over again this year. This is how it played out. If we had a shoot, meeting, call or interaction the intention we set aka: expectation, was met. For example, if we thought that a meeting was going to be problematic or challenging, then by golly it was. The same held true for the opposite. If we thought that a meeting or shoot would be wonderful, then eureka, it was! Not only that, many times our expectations were exceeded. Is this magic? We don’t think so. It’s how life works. What you put out into the world tends to multiply and come back to you. Lesson learned.
That’s a Wrap for 2016
